WINTER OLYMPIC GAMES

The MegaFaces Pavilion by MegaFon entered history as one of the most innovative, captivating and ambitious projects of the 2014 Winter Olympic Games. It welcomed more than 140,000 visitors and was featured by leading global media outlets, including TIME magazine and CNN.

Three-dimensional portraits of fans from around the world, created using 11,000 telescopic pistons, appeared on the building’s façade, impressing audiences with their unprecedented scale and execution. A unique example of kinetic architecture designed for direct interaction with people, the project was the result of months of work by our team, with the significant contribution of British architect Asif Khan.

We were responsible for the global creative idea, marketing strategy, PR and project management of both Russian and international contractors engaged for the project. We also organized a nationwide roadshow, allowing people from across the country to become "the faces of the Olympics", and delivered more than 30 events within the Pavilion itself, including presentations, media activations, cultural programs and VIP engagements.

MegaFaces was recognized as one of the most innovative pavilions of the Sochi Winter Olympics and received more than 50 international awards, including Russia’s first and only Grand Prix in the Innovation category at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity 2014.
